I usually don’t write reviews so early without fully experiencing a product or service, but this feels different because I now have hope of a more functional and active life. More importantly , we have to Credit excellence. Dr. Packer is proficient and a leader in his field. He is also caring and has a sense of humor.
The very first time I met him, I was impressed because he gave me hope. After reading about him online and watching his interview, and finding out that he worked at Moffit Cancer Center, I was even more impressed. And his family’s community involvement evokes trust.
I’ve been in pain for over four years with the ability to do very little like making my bed, sleeping, using the toilet, etc. or inability to enjoy simple pleasures such as gardening, exercising, having lunch with a friend, going to a movie/concert, etc. I’ve seen many doctors who wouldn’t or couldn’t help me (one of the doctors said he was afraid he would make me worse. I now appreciate his honesty). Because of these previous experiences, it is evident to me that Dr. Packer did more than his best. The very first day of the spinal fusion, I was up and about using the bathroom independently. The very next day, I made four lapses around the nurse’s station. Two days after the surgery, I’m now in the kitchen preparing my full liquid soup without assistance :) These simples examples are to illustrate how drastically the spinal fusing surgery is already improving my life. I’m more excited about doing things now.
Physical pain deters and discourages. I’m welcome a less pain-free existence.
Two days after surgery:
-The nagging pain in my behind is almost completely gone.
-The pain that drove me madly to the hospital has lessened significantly.
-To be honest, I still have intermittent pain and numbness, but I believe that I must now do my part: moving, standing, walking, and doing. It took time for the pain to magnify, so it will take le time to decrease- but I am seeing change and having a new outlook on life. I’m looking forward to physical therapy to help final stage of my recovery and begin living again. I have a strange feeling that I will experience full recovery.
I would without hesitation recommend Dr. Packer to my family members and everyone suffering from spinal injuries because I not only trust his abilities and experiences, I’ve also experienced it just as I have shared in this review. There’s so much more to say. I’ll make myself available to anyone who want to talk to me about this experience.

Dr. Packer office staff is amazing. I want to send a special shout out to Diana. She is empathetic, supportive, caring, super nice, and efficient. She handles everything with expediency. She made my urgency her urgency - something you don’t see every day - very rare quality in today’s world.
Dr. Packer’s PA, Ms. Wang, is knowledgeable. She was able to answer all my questions. She followed up and through with everything she says she will do. She’s also caring and sympathetic.
The Brain and Spine Center of South Florida values, respects, and cares for humans and quality of life. I believe that is the reason Dr. Packer chose to help me when other doctors refused and the reasons his staff is so wonderfully caring.
I had an amazing experience.
