Timothy G. Burke, MD, FAANS – Neurosurgeon – Board Certified

Dr. Timothy Burke offers many years of excellent Neurosurgical experience and care. As a former Director of Neurological Surgery and Brain Tumor Director at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland he  specializes in cranial base surgery, neuro-oncology, pituitary tumors, facial pain, Chiari malformation, stereotactic radiosurgery, complex and minimally invasive spine. Dr. Burke subspecializes in a variety of neurological areas including YAG laser, micro vascular decompression, the use of Midas Rex, brain tumor surgery, spinal tumors, cervical and lumbar fusions, and trigeminal neuralgia.

 

Dr. Burke also served as Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery at The George Washington University. He was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society from The George Washington University as well.

 

Currently on staff at Delray Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital he is equipped to handle any brain or spine case.  He holds medical licenses in the State of Maryland and Florida.

 

He is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He was a course director for Virtual Reality Simulation in Neurosurgical Training at SAIL (Surgical Advancement through Innovation and Learning Center). Instructor at The Bethesda Spine Course at The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. “Posterior cervical techniques” Instructor for DePuy Minimally invasive Lumbar Surgical Techniques. Instructor for CNS course. Instructor endoscopic spine surgery section of The George Washington University. Director and instructor of The George Washington University Microvascular Surgical. Attended the course at The Harvey Ammerman Neurosurgical Laboratory, BrainPath certification for subcortical surgery. Completed courses for Medtronic O-Arm spinal navigation training, Medtronic Navigation Clinical Education, and Medtronic Prestige artificial cervical disc training. He received his Novocure Certification TTF. Certification for indications and application of Tumor Treating fields for FDA approved treatment of high grade gliomas with alternating electrical fields. Nico Neuro BrainPath certification for minimally invasive white matter sparing cranial surgery. Medtronic Kyphon Kyphoplasty trained, Medtronic Bryan Cervical Disc Arthroplasty, Globus Spine Cervical Disc Arthroplasty, Paradigm Spine Coflex training, Charite’ Artificial Disc comprehensive Training Program, and a special Novalis Stereotactic Radiosurgery certification: in Munich, Germany.
